This June, Seva Equitable was honored to celebrate Pride Month, Father’s Day, and Juneteenth at the soup kitchen by offering special snacks, treats, and uplifting moments to our clients throughout the month.

These small acts of kindness brought comfort, dignity, and joy to those we serve. Whether honoring love and inclusion during Pride Month, recognizing fathers and father figures on Father’s Day, or celebrating freedom and resilience for Juneteenth, each Sunday offered us another opportunity to build community and remind our clients that they are seen, valued, and appreciated.

As the country prepared to celebrate the 250th anniversary of independence, Seva Equitable also brought the spirit of the 4th of July to the soup kitchen with a BBQ-style meal for clients. It was a meaningful way to give everyone a chance to take part in the celebration and enjoy a holiday experience filled with food, fellowship, and care.

During the month, Seva Equitable also supported the soup kitchen’s everyday needs by purchasing essential pantry items, including a powerful commercial immersion blender that will help improve meal preparation for future services.

None of this would have been possible without the generosity of our donors and the dedication of our volunteers. This year, as some of our traditional funding sources shifted, individual supporters stepped forward to help us continue our mission.

On behalf of all of us at Seva Equitable, thank you for helping us serve with love, dignity, and purpose.

Here are a few snapshots—though no image can fully capture the pride, gratitude, freedom, teamwork, and community spirit that made these moments so meaningful!
