Dear Community,
We are thrilled to share that Seva Equitable has been selected by the New York City Department of Health & Mental Hygiene to participate in the Health Bucks program!
Health Bucks are $2 coupons that can be used to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables at any NYC Farmers’ Market or farm stand.
Seva Equitable will prioritize distributing Health Bucks to community members who receive and use SNAP benefits. By focusing on SNAP recipients, we can help families stretch their food dollars further and make fresh, locally grown fruits and vegetables more affordable. This approach not only supports healthier eating habits in low-income households but also strengthens the local food system by directing resources to neighborhood farmers’ markets and regional growers.
📍You can find us at the Down to Earth Morningside Park Farmers Market over the next couple of Saturdays and other parts of Harlem, where we’ll be giving out Health Bucks and engaging with neighbors about healthy food choices.
This program is monitored for distribution and helps determine entry for the following year —so your participation matters!
Together, let’s make fresh, nutritious food more accessible for all.
