This June, Seva Equitable was proud to celebrate a month filled with meaning and Love at the soup kitchen at St. John the Divine. With the generous support of BNY, we honored Pride Month, Father’s Day, and Juneteenth with care, compassion, and community. Throughout June, Seva Equitable proudly participated in feeding over 1,000 clients—nourishing both body and spirit during Pride Month, Father’s Day, and Juneteenth celebrations.

Throughout the month, Seva brought sweet treats for clients on multiple Sundays, and each week, we shared uplifting messages on the menu board—celebrating Love, inclusion, resilience, and freedom. These messages helped create a welcoming space where everyone felt seen and valued.

For Father’s Day, we went a step further with thoughtful gift bags that included small trinkets and meaningful pendant necklaces engraved with words like:

  • Believe
  • Blessed
  • Brave
  • Dream
  • Faith
  • Love
  • Will Power

These tokens were chosen to reflect the strength and spirit of so many of the men we serve—whether or not they hold the title of “father,” their presence and influence matter deeply in our community.

And on Juneteenth, we paused to honor the legacy of freedom, while continuing our work to serve with dignity, justice, and Love.

We are so grateful to all our volunteers and to BNY for helping make this month a celebration of identity, compassion, and connection. Together, we continue to build a community where everyone feels at home!

Warmly,
The Seva Equitable Team

Here are a few snapshots from June—though no photo can truly capture the love, spirit, and inclusivity our volunteers brought to each Sunday celebration!
