The grant funding will help our group provide hygiene kits during the upcoming holidays, ensuring that those most in need in our community have access to essential care items during one of the most challenging times of the year.
We are incredibly grateful to CitizensNYC for recognizing our mission and supporting our efforts to create a healthier, more equitable New York City. A special thank you goes to the Seva Equitable team members and volunteers who dedicated their time and energy to applying for this grant. We can’t wait to show you what we’ll accomplish through the Season of Care: Holiday Hygiene & Hope Drive in Manhattan.
Season of Care: Holiday Hygiene & Hope Drive
This initiative will take place during the week leading up to Christmas, a time when financial strain and emotional stress are at their peak for many families. As living costs continue to rise in New York City, countless individuals must make impossible choices between food, hygiene products, and heating their homes. The Season of Care project was established to address these challenges by providing hygiene kits filled with essential items such as soap, shampoo, toothpaste, and other products that promote health, dignity, and self-confidence.
If additional funds are raised, Seva Equitable also hopes to include holiday food support, such as turkeys or pantry staples, helping families celebrate the holidays with comfort and dignity.
Why This Work Matters
Hygiene insecurity is often overlooked in conversations about poverty and inequality, yet it has a profound effect on both physical and emotional well-being. By addressing this need during the holiday season, Seva Equitable aims to ensure that every recipient feels seen, supported, and valued—reminding them that their community cares. Beyond meeting immediate needs, the project fosters a sense of hope, connection, and compassion that strengthens neighborhoods from within.
Expanding Our Impact
While this grant provides a strong foundation, Seva Equitable is actively raising additional funds to expand the reach of the Season of Care project. We are engaging our network of individual donors, volunteers, and local businesses for both monetary donations and in-kind contributions such as hygiene supplies, pantry items, and storage space.
We are also collaborating with community partners, including soup kitchens, shelters, and mutual aid groups, to leverage existing distribution channels and reach as many people as possible. Together, we can make this season brighter for hundreds of New Yorkers facing hardship.
Join Us
This season, we invite our friends, supporters, and neighbors to join us in this meaningful effort. Whether through a donation, volunteer time, or simply spreading the word, your contribution makes a tangible difference.
As we celebrate this milestone with CitizensNYC, Seva Equitable remains steadfast in its mission to alleviate food and hygiene insecurity while building a stronger, healthier, and more compassionate New York City.
Together, we can make this a true Season of Care.
